The U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® v3 IEQ Credit 4.4: Low-Emitting Materials—Composite Wood and Agrifiber Products pertains to composite wood and agrifiber products, and contributes one point toward LEED® certification. The USGBC intends for this requirement to help "reduce the quantity of indoor air contaminants that are odorous, irritating and/or harmful to the comfort and well-being of installers and occupants."
Teragren Portfolio and Synergy™ strand bamboo flooring, stair parts and trim, and strand panels all qualify for LEED® v3 IEQ Credit 4.4 because they are manufactured using a phenol-formaldehyde adhesive that emits an average of 0.01 ppm of formaldehyde.
The SCS IAG certification complies with the California Special Environmental Requirements Specification 01350, which is designed to ensure health through good indoor air quality. They are Indoor Air Quality certified (Registration SCS.IAQ-01879).
Our strand panels also qualify for IEQ 4.4. Other traditional bamboo flooring panels and veneer are available manufactured with an IEQ 4.4 formaldehyde-free adhesive; select products are in stock or by special order only. Teragren bamboo countertops and table tops also contribute to IEQ Credit 4.4: Low-Emitting Materials—Composite Wood and Agrifiber Products.
All Teragren flooring products are FloorScore®-certified, qualifying them for IEQ Credit 4.3: Low-Emitting Materials—Flooring Systems.
